Dec 1981 WON AGAIN – for the SECOND time : The Junior Maharashtra State Championship Junior Western India Championship Junior Rajasthan Open Championship Oct 1982 WON THE MALAYSIAN MEN’S PLATE TROPHY – defeating :- Chris Clarke, their Australian Coach in the quarter finals, fellow compatriat, Dinyar Ali Khan in the semi-finals and Peter Schneider of Switzerland in the Finals. The Japanese Company KAWASAKI were impressed enough with his performance to have sponsored him to henceforth use their Squash Kit and Clothes-Wear. Dec 1983 BECAME THE MEN’S NATIONAL CHAMPION AT THE AGE OF 20, by defeating: The renown six-year reigning Champion, Major Raj Manchanda in the Semi-Finals and Ananth Nayak in the Finals.
